Welcome to NARPO Maidstone & District
About Maidstone Branch
The Maidstone & District Branch of NARPO was formed in 1947 and is one of five branches in Kent. Although most of our 600 plus members live in and around Maidstone, many are in other parts of the UK and countries abroad. We keep in touch with all members through our email circulation system and by forwarding the minutes of our branch meetings. Members are invited to the four branch meetings we hold each year at the Kent Police Training School. At the end of each meeting there is a free raffle and a buffet; this is when we meet up with old friends. We are grateful to Kent Police for the use of the Training School; we are pleased to maintain close links with the force.

Further Key Information
As well as the four branch meetings, Maidstone branch holds two luncheons each year in the Spring and the Autumn. Our social calendar is busy with trips to shows in the West End of London, Quiz Nights, other outings and visits that are managed by our Social Secretary, Colin Capeling. If any members has any suggestion as to future social events, feel free to contact the branch secretary, who, will forward to Colin for consideration. For those members who need help, advice and welfare support the branch is fortunate in having three Welfare Officers on the committee. We publish details of the force 'Old Comrades' lunch held in July annually on behalf of FHQ. This is a splendid event held in Maidstone and we recommend you try to attend if possible. Full details are available from the branch secretary on request.
We encourage members to attend the quarterly meetings where updates on matters of interest to retired colleagues and details of the force direction and plans going forward. we try to have a guest speaker at the branch meetings, on many and vari0us subjects.
